Hi! My name is Chrissi Knox, and I am both excited and honored to teach Kindergarten at Barton Creek!
This will be my 5th year teaching - I can't wait!
I was born and raised in the DFW area and moved to Austin to attend college at the University of Texas at Austin. After graduating in 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in Applied Learning and Development, I just couldn't leave such a fun city. I taught fifth grade in Austin ISD for one year before coming to Eanes ISD. I've been in K/1 at BCE for the past 3 years and absolutely love it!
I have a love for teaching and believe in making learning fun in meaningful and engaging ways. I want my students to develop a love for learning that will carry them wherever they want to go. I also strive to create a caring, cooperative, and fun classroom environment where children feel that they can be themselves. We are a classroom community and as such I hope to reinforce in my students what it looks like to be a kind, thoughtful, and active member of a community.
I am very close with my family and am lucky to get to spend lots of time with them. Both of my sisters live in the Austin area and my parents recently moved down as well. My brother lives in Seattle, but I take every chance I can to go visit and explore the city. Between all my siblings I have 6 nieces and nephews who I adore, and 2 more on the way!
In my free time I enjoy getting together with my family, trying new restaurants with my boyfriend, hanging out with friends, being on the water, shopping, baking, reading, and traveling.
